She has an brother, Fred a 7th year Ravenclaw, who was named after her late uncle. She also has an owl she got when she was 12, named Freddy. She did this mostly to irritate her brother. Beyond that she grew up with an exceedingly large extended family. During her time at Hogwarts she's hardly been able to walk the halls without running into at least one of her cousins. Growing up Roxanne worked very hard to develop her own distinct personality. It's not that she dislikes her family. Quite the opposite. She just refuses to be defined by something as insignificant as a last name. (Besides if you ask her, the jokes are a bit played out and people need to get some new material.) She did pick up some of her parents habits though. Quidditch is her sport. Like her mother, she's a chaser. She occasionally grumbles a bit about the game, but in her mind that cup is hers. She's a pretty gifted wizard despite the fact she absolutely hates studying. Ever since she was young she's excelled in charms. She has developed a love for potions despite the fact she's had more than a few blow up in her face. Herbology is another strength of hers, and one she enjoys even more than she thought possible because it comes so easily to her. More recently she's really come into her own into transfiguration. Roxanne has always had a knack for inventing her own spells , something she picked up from her father. They might not be anything ground-breaking, but not just anyone can create working spells with ease. This year Roxanne is looking to break out from the crowd and come into her own. Not that she's a total nobody to begin with, She doesn't go unnoticed. Not for her skills or last name but because of she's always been, for better or worse. And for the most part she can live with that. Roxanne could really use her brother. She's also looking for friends, and possibly a romantic interest. twelve, 1st YEAR RAVENCLAW, PUREBLOOD. -outgoing -intelligent -studious -bookworm -imaginative -kind Tom Emerson was born in the month April to Tony and Kim Emerson. His parents loved him very much, but both were quite busy with their jobs and so, he was often left with staff (or house elves). Despite having 3 older siblings he hardly ever saw them. They were from his dad's first marriage and only came over every so often. When they did they didn't always seem very happy to be there. As Tom got older he spent most of his time on his own, nose stuck in a book. He had a unique way of viewing things, and an active imagination. He relished any chance to go out and interact in the wizarding world as he found people fascinating. Unfortunately he was very observant, and sometimes said things people didn't want to hear. Tom's just beginning to find his way at Hogwarts, literally and figuratively. He gets lost quite a bit actually. And most of the time it's not even because his curiosity has lead him where he shouldn't be. He thinks it's pretty cool he was sorted into Ravenclaw, but likes the other houses too. He's really fond of the owlery and the library. More importantly, he also really wants to get to know his half sister Megan better, and since she teaches at Hogwarts that works out well. Tom could use some friends or any plots really, so if you want to plot with him don't hesitate to to let me know. SCARLETT JANE BARKER RIO NOTT sixteen, 6th YEAR HUFFLEPUFF PREFECT, QUIDDITCH ANNOUNCER, METAMORPHAGI. AN EXCERPT FROM THE RAMBLINGS OF SCARLETT JANE BARKER: "My father Elliot is headmaster here at good old Hogwarts. Yay me! People think being the headmaster's kid makes life easier. It so does not. At all. Allow me to reiterate that. Being the head master's child, very little benefits, very many drawbacks. But I shouldn't complain. It could be much worse. My other father Wyatt is pretty awesome as well. And yes, dad I didn't tell people about you because if they can't figure out about their own headmaster that's a bit sad; don't you think? I have a sibling. It's a love hate relationship. Mostly love. They're a year and house here. Which is cool. We don't discriminate here. Perhaps I should clarify that; I don't discriminate. I've really never gone out and polled the general population. Maybe onlookers would think my life's a bit bizarre. Or that my non-traditional family is a little strange. Not because my dads are gay, but because well, truthfully we're a little eccentric. Or maybe that's just me. I forget. Other people in my life. My BFF; . Seriously, she's the best. I could tell you... then again I won't. You know. Because were pretty much just two plain, boring average girls who don't do much except study. Yeah, so. Also I'm pretty close to my cousin Leighton too. She's a year younger than me. Same house. And my owl, Rowlf. But you want to know about me. Well, last year at least I had the prefect thing going on. Kind of a pre-req to do stuff like that when your dad's headmaster. Have to be responsible and put your best face forward etc, etc. Oh, I'm a quidditch announcer. I used to be in choir until it was pointed out to be that, how did they say it? My skills might be put to better use elsewhere. So now for I'm in the dramatic society. The secretary of it actually. I honestly have no idea what purpose a secretary serves in such a group. I just go where I'm told. I should probably get to the just the fact's ma’am, part of this shouldn't I? My favorite class is DADA. The thing is half the time I'm just winging it, so who knows. I've always gotten fairly good marks, but that could just be dumb luck. My patronus? This is kind of embarrassing. Some sort of ant thing. I know, right? I think it's because when I was younger I listed to that rubber tree plant song on too many times. Other favorite classes include Potions, where I am proud to say I've only caused a few small explosions. Hey, my professor said I show initiative, a willingness to experiment, and a remarkable lack of fear the likes of which hasn't been seen in some time. Which basically means I'm a bit of a safety risk in the classroom, but I wasn't the one to sugarcoat it. Transfiguration is nice enough. I think my wand likes it. I have absolutely no way of knowing that, but I read once a unicorn hair core is well suited to transfiguration and my wand is willow and unicorn hair. I love charms. I know a lot of students think it's kid stuff but well, maybe I like being a kid. Flying Theory is my favorite elective, and you haven't lived until you've seen me in a pick up game of quidditch. Divination is the other elective I'm thinking of taking this year. It's not for everyone, but it has a certain allure. I loved care of magical creatures too, but you can only have so many electives so maybe I'll just peak in from time to time. Oh my boggart ; that's one of those basic type questions, right? Well it changes. Which is logical really, people evolve. But I've generally managed to overcome any issues I have with the thought of my cousin Henry falling of his broom when we were kids. Or now actually. But it actually did happen when we were kids and while he remained unharmed it did knock him down a peg. It was hilarious as all get out. What else? Well backing up a bit , in case you somehow missed it, I'm adopted. Honestly, I have no idea who my biologicals were or what happened. Maybe I turned into some sort of freaky creature and they were like 'that's enough of that' I don't know. Hey it could happen. I'm a metamorphagi after all. I mean it probably didn't, but it's as good of an explanation as any. " Scarlett Jane's always open to friends. And enemies. And boys. And food if you have it. She also is looking for her cousin 7th year pb Anna Silk, you can pm me for the extensive details on that one. Also she really needs her dad Wyatt, pb Christopher Eccleston, and her sibling. So of you wanna help a girl out pm me, or possibly Elliot Barker regarding her father. seventeen, 7th YEAR PREFECT, STAFF ATT OLLIVANDERS AND THREE BROOMSTICKS, PUREBLOOD. -keeps to self -a bit of a snob due to her upbringing, but in reality would do most anything to help someone -tends to be the one there with a small reassuring smile -surprisingly rather intellectual -very good student -chooses to work part time, which her parents aren't exactly thrilled about Rio Nott was born to Theodore Nott and Daphne Greengrass. She has a sister Juliet, who is one year younger. While they have have their differences it's safe to say she loves her little sister very much and would do anything for her. Her brother Marcus is two years younger and while the two aren't quite as close Rio has always felt as if she'd do anything before letting harm befall either of her siblings. In many ways Rio has always been a bit like like her parents. A slytherin pureblood, she's quite beautiful and quite admired by those around her. She's also one of the kinder, soft spoken slytherin. Like her father she keeps to herself quite a bit. It's not uncommon to find her up by the owlery in quite contemplation or reading a book. This is Rio's last year at Hogwarts. There are many things she could be looked upon highly for. Her past academic achievements, being prefect as well as a member of the invite only slug club. Ask her fellow students and they will tell you she's one of the most popular girls in school. (Though honestly, it's been quite a while since she actually sought out any sort of popularity.) Still she finds her self unsure about so many things, including her future. Strange, isn't it? The girl who has it all is the girl who probably doubts herself the most. Rio could use a diverse group of people to fill different roles in her life. After all, she's trying to find herself. Also it might be nice if she helped others make a few discoveries about themselves along the way. AVERY MCFADDEN PERSEPHONE GRANT forty six, MINISTER OF MAGIC, Pureblood, Divorced - values family, despite a less than stellar home life - relentless work ethic - level headed - takes the fact that the state of the Wizarding World lies largely in her hands - struggles to find balance in life - is quite critical of herself and others Avery McFadden was born into a pure blood family with one older brother, Wyatt, who was sorted into Gryffindor, a slightly younger brother in Ravenclaw. She found herself in the middle, and in school a Slytherin. Later her father would remarry not once but twice, and she would gain a 41 year old half sister, another family member sorted into Gryffindor and a 32 year old brother who spent his school years traveling in between the UK and the States, attending both Ravenclaw and it's American equivalent. Both of her parents worked in the Ministry, and she hate a bit of a love hate relationship with them. In her adulthood she has had many successes and a few failures. Her marriage, a failure. Obviously she's had a few family issues. Her daughter is 19 and in her 7th year at Hogwarts. Of course this was due to travels, still people do talk. As her career, some had her pegged to bring the wizarding world into a whole new era. Now she finds herself wondering about said era will prove to be. If you check character requests under Katherine King you'll see she still needs quite a few of her family members to be played. As with all my characters, I'd really like her to be a well rounded person - so please feel free to share any plot ideas you have. twenty two, MANAGER OF FLOURISH AND BLOTTS, PUREBLOOD - independent and self sufficient - knowledgeable - curious - opinionated; though she tends to keep said opinions to self - quick to get hot temper, but she takes measures to restrain herself - helpful (at times) - sometimes a bit blunt - free-spirit - quick-witted - ambitious - a bit bipolar; can go from being the quiet girl in the corner to center of (sometimes unwanted) attention. Though she honestly she mostly keeps to herself. - somewhat nurturing , or at least good with kids and animals. Persephone was one of two identical twins born on New Year's day of 1999. Her birth mother, a seventeen year old supporter of Voldemort's, was being held under heavy security at St Mungos before being shipped back to Azkaban. They allowed the young woman to non ceremoniously name her Persephone Asterope Carrow before she and her sister were separated from her mother. Weeks passed, months really and Persephone was still at a the orphanage. She occasionally had foster parents but that didn't really work out. The considered other options but felt placing her with unsuspecting muggles may not have been the safest bet given her heritage. So for the most part she spent her days and nights in the orphanage until it was time to attend Hogwarts. It wasn't that bad, at least from her perspective it could be worse. She liked reading. And they made a special exception to let her start when she was 11 , a year early. Mostly because it was felt that it couldn't be benefiting the child to spend her days cooped up in an orphanage. And if they got an early start, who knew maybe they could even prevent her from turning out like her mother. Persephone was sorted into Slytherin, and liked it well enough there. She was fairly studious as well. But she also wasn't ignorant. She had questioned over the years, and theorized in her head. It really hit her when she realized she couldn't see a thestral. (She had learned about them from an older student who was able to see them quite clearly.) Something wasn't right. Why had she been orphaned? She let it go until her second year. Then she confronted the headmaster and asked point blank what had happened to her parents. Upon learning the truth she started worrying about keeping other students from discovering who her parents were. Though, honestly she didn't know them herself. She did know however that children could be cruel. Having graduated Hogwarts with honors she currently manages Flourish and Blotts. She is living in residence there with her cat and owl with the permission of the owner. She has no romantic ties, however she suspects her cat may have. Obviously she's going to have some sort of plot with her twin and mother. But really, there's so much more that could be done here, so if you have any ideas at all, let me know. |
